Arrowhead Queen Lake Tours:

Lake Arrowhead's sights are definitely worth seeing. One of the best vantage points is aboard the Arrowhead Queen. This small-scale version of a Mississippi River-style paddle boat launches its narrated tours from the Lake Arrowhead Village Waterfront Marina. Mountain Skies Astronomical Society:

The best place to catch a glimpse of earth-bound stars from the movies and television is less than two hours west of here. But if you're interested in searching for stars and galaxies in the clear night sky, Lake Arrowhead's Mountain Skies Astronomical Society is just heavenly. Free star watches are organized monthly. This learning center's programs and activities include special displays, guest speakers from observatories and the aerospace industry, workshops, and supervised celestial observations. Rim of the World Scenic Highway - California Highway 18:

Want an elevating experience? Take the Rim of the World Scenic Highway out of Lake Arrowhead. It's part of the National Scenic Byway System, and it's one of the most spectacular drives in all of California. Before you go, steer yourself to the nearest ranger station for a self-guided tour booklet. The Rim of the World Highway runs along a rim of the San Bernardino Range and through the national forest. It takes you to elevations of 8,000 feet, and it provides mountain, forest and desert vistas that will take your breath away. From various points you can see all the way to Palm Springs.

San Bernardino National Forest:

Whether you have a couple of hours or a couple of days, a getaway into the 818,999 acre San Bernardino National Forest will give you a larger perspective on nature. There are 500 miles of trails here. So there's plenty of room to wander. You can hike, bike or ride a horse through the ponderosa pines. Many pathways open to reveal vistas of the mountains and dazzling deserts. Exploring this forest, you'll discover it's lively. There are eagles, flying squirrels, tree frogs, bighorn sheep, mule deer and wild turkeys. Humans are at home here too: You'll find campgrounds throughout the forest.
